Our Sterilization Services
- All instruments are sterilized with an autoclave that uses steam, heat, and pressure
- All individual set up are sealed in bags with indicator strips and autoclaved to ensure sterility
- Our autoclave is tested weekly for proper sterilization cycles by Baylor University's biology lab.
- Barrier controls recommended by OSHA are used for every client. This includes gloves, masks, eye wear and gowns worn by employees and plastic barrier covers are applied to all surfaces that may be touched and cannot be sterilized.
- Disposable items are used whenever possible and are always discarded after a single use.
- Disinfectants are used on counter tops, chairs and other hard surfaces in treatment areas at the end of each appointment.
- Hand pieces (prophy angles, drills and burrs) are heat sterilized after each use.
- All needles are disposable and are placed into sharps containers after each use. These are disposed with biohazard waste in a separate container from our non-biohazard waste.
- All biohazard waste is removed from our office by a hazardous waste company that has a special incinerator.
- All team members have had formal OSHA, CPR and X-ray training and the training is updated yearly.
- All clinical employees have been vaccinated against Hepatitis B.
